My name is Celeste Haar and although I am called a lot of things the one that I am most proud of (after Mom and Wife) is Metry Chick! I am THE Metry Chick, creator and head chick for MetryChick.com. I create etched glass items as well as photo jewelry, a fancy-ish term for making jewelry using pictures. My etched glass is a lot like me, quirky and unique. I am an artist that works by hand, so that means that I don't use any machines or stencils when I etch. I etch every single piece every single time with a knife and acid. It does take a little bit of time and a whole lot of practice, but that's why I do it. It allows me to create complex designs. If I can dream it and my knife can cut it, I can do it. I have been blessed with my business and it has become my full time job. I love what I do. I have always had that dream of being able to make a living with art and now I am living the dream. I know how lucky I am and count my blessings.
My items are "different". That is a word that I hear every single market that I do, and I do a lot of them. I work just in the New Orleans metro are and participate in upwards of 70 art markets and craft fairs per year. In 2010 I was at over 80 shows. I am constantly searching for the next new product. The next new glass shape or texture, or reworking my graphics. I am always on the go. MetryChick's slogan is "NOLA Gifts with METRY Attitude!" That kind of says it all. I work hard to find pieces of NOLA yesteryear and bring it to the forefront of our memories. I have searched through closets, old trunks, old books and phonebooks. Some of my best resources have been my customers. My NOstaLgiA collection is very popular as it brings back memories of old New Orleans and puts smiles on faces every time I show them. I also love being a tiny part of someone's special day. Whether it is through a wedding or birthday gift, or just a little something, I treasure the opportunity to create those custom champagne flutes, or a beautiful vase for your anniversary bouquet. I was lucky enough to meet my soul mate almost 20 years ago and have the most amazing two young ladies that I am so proud to call my daughters. We just welcomed our little dude to our life last year and can't remember life without him.

I offer pickup to the Greater New Orleans area, or anyone who wants to make the pilgrimage to Metry. All other purchases will vary on shipping. Buyer pays all shipping costs. All items will be shipped USPS and packaged to UPS standards. Delivery is only available to commercial accounts.
Most jewelry orders are shipped within 48 hours of placing your order. Glass orders, please allow up to 10 business days for your order to ship.

You have 30 days from the receipt of your order to contact me with any issues. Store credit may be issued in MOST cases.
